FPIs extend buying

Net inflow of Rs 248.72 crore on 12 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 248.72 crore on Friday, 12 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 472 crore on Thursday, 11 September 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 248.72 crore on 12 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3753.34 crore and gross sales of Rs 3504.62 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 244.81 crore into the secondary equity market on 12 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3749.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 3504.49 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 65.17 points or 0.24% to settle at 27,061.04, its highest closing since 9 September 2014 on that day.

There was an inflow of Rs 3.91 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 12 September 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 6914.21 crore in this month so far (till 12 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 6572 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.

FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 85249.40 crore in this calendar year so far (till 12 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 77916.30 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
