Government announces market borrowings of Rs 7.24 lakh crore for H1FY2022

The government has announced its market borrowing calendar for the first half of next fiscal year FY2022. As per the market borrowings calendar of the government, it intends to raise market borrowings of Rs 724000 crore in April to September 2021 period.

Month wise, the government proposes to raise Rs 116000 crore through market borrowings in the month of April 2021, Rs 148000 crore in May 2021, Rs 116000 crore in June 2021, Rs 116000 crore in July 2021, Rs 140000 crore in August 2021 and Rs 88000 crore in September 2021.

Maturity wise, about Rs 36000 crores are proposed to be raised through 2 year maturity bonds, Rs 143000 crore through 5 year bonds, Rs 168000 crore through 10 year bonds, Rs 130000 crore through 14 year bonds, Rs 91000 crore through 30 year bonds, Rs 108000 crore through 40 year bonds and Rs 48000 crore through floating rate bonds.
