HDFC Bank fell 1.15% at Rs 2,380.20 at 14:36 IST on BSE, extending recent losses amid broad based selling pressure.
Meanwhile, S&P BSE Sensex was down 34.19 points or 0.09% at 38,686.38.
On BSE, 2.22 lakh shares were traded in HDFC Bank counter, compared to a 2-week average of 1.34 lakh shares. The share price hit an intraday high of Rs 2,410.55 and an intraday low of Rs 2,372.40. It hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,502.90 on 3 July 2019 and a 52-week low of Rs 1,884.40 on 31 October 2018.
Shares of HDFC Bank fell 4.57% in five trading sessions to its current market price of Rs 2,380.20, from a recent closing high of Rs 2,494.35 on 2 July 2019.
HDFC Bank announced before market hours yesterday, 8 July 2019, that its advances aggregated to approximately Rs 8,29,500 crore as of 30 June 2019 as compared to Rs 7,08,600 crore as of 30 June 2018 and Rs 8,19,400 crore as of 31 March 2019.
The bank's deposits aggregated to approximately Rs 9,54,500 crore as of 30 June 2019 as compared to Rs 8,05,800 crore as of 30 June 2018 and Rs 9,23,100 crore as of 31 March 2019.
The bank's CASA ratio stood at around 40% as compared to 41.7% as of 30 June 2018 and 42.4% as of 31 March 2019. During the quarter ended 30 June 2019, the bank purchased loans aggregating Rs 7,230 crore through the direct assignment route under the home loan arrangement with Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC).
Net profit of HDFC Bank rose 22.6% to Rs 5,885.12 crore on a 22.1% increase in total income to Rs 31,204.46 crore in Q4 March 2019 over Q4 March 2018.
As of 31 March 2019, HDFC Bank had a nationwide distribution network 5,103 branches and 13,160 ATMs in over 2,748 cities and towns.
