Of graphite electrodes
HEG announced that Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), Government of India vide Notification dated 13 February 2015 has imposed antidumping duty on graphite electrodes (all diameters) originating in or exported from People's Republic of China. The amount of anti-dumping duty ranges from USD 278.19 per MT to USD 922.03 per MT, depending upon the Chinese producer / exporter.The anti-dumping duty imposed under the said notification shall be effective for a period of five years (unless revoked, amended or superseded earlier) from the date of publication of the notification in the Gazette of India and shall be paid in Indian currency.
The aforesaid levy is expected to provide a level playing field in the domestic market vis-a-vis imports from China.
