Shares of HEG surged 21.60% in four trading sessions to its current market price of Rs 1,240.65, from a recent closing low of Rs 1020.25 on 9 September 2019.
On BSE, 50,000 shares were traded in HEG counter, compared to a 2-week average of 54,000 shares. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 1247 and an intraday low of Rs 1184.
It hit a 52-week high of Rs 4950 on 16 October 2018 and a 52-week low of Rs 873.35 on 23 August 2019.
HEG's consolidated net profit fell 68.6% to Rs 243.48 crore on a 48.6% decline in net sales to Rs 816.51 crore in Q1 June 2019 compared with Q1 June 2018.
HEG is engaged in manufacturing of graphite electrodes, which are used by manufacturers of steel. The firm's segments include graphite, power and unallocable items/others.
