Hong Kong Market falls 1.62%
Capital MarketHeadline indices of the Hong Kong share market closed down on Monday, 24 September 2018, in cautious trade following the mixed cues from Wall Street Friday and escalation in the Sino-US trade-war, with Beijing cancelling upcoming talks with the Washington. The Hang Seng Index declined 454.19 points or 1.62% to 27,499.39. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index dropped 199.61 points or 1.81% to 10,807.52 The sub-index of the Hang Seng tracking the Commerce & Industry sector fell 1.8%, properties sector dropped 2.2%, financial sector was 1.5% down, and Utilities sector fell 0.6%. Turnover decreased to HK$69.3 billion from HK$130.6 billion on Friday. The local stock market will close tomorrow on a public holiday.
