Indian Railways' Freight Loading up by 4.64 per cent during April 2014-January 2015

Indian Railways carried 906.36 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during 1st April 2014 to 31st January 2015. The freight carried shows an increase of 40.22 million tonnes over the freight traffic of 866.14 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 4.64 per cent.

During the month of January 2015, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 97.79 million tonnes. There is an increase of 1.39 million tonnes over the actual freight traffic of 96.40 million tonnes carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, showing an increase of 1.44 per cent.
