Jagran Prakashan rose 1.31% to Rs 85 at 9:48 IST on BSE after the company said its board of directors will consider a proposal for buyback of equity shares of the company at a meeting scheduled on 30 October 2013.
The announcement was made before market hours today, 21 October 2013.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 79.47 points or 0.38% at 20,962.36.
On BSE, 6,254 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 44,070 shares in the past two weeks.
The stock hit a high of Rs 86.70 and a low of Rs 84.45 so far during the day.
Jagran Prakashan's net profit rose 6.5% to Rs 59.34 crore on 20.7% growth in net sales to Rs 375.52 crore in Q1 June 2013 over Q1 June 2012.
