Kalpataru Power extends gains after new orders

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 345.66 points or 1.83% at 19,221.61.

On BSE, 5,254 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 17,482 shares over the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 71.85 and a low of Rs 67.20 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 105.40 on 10 January 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 64.15 on 31 August 2012.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 27 June 2013, sliding 10.71% as compared to the Sensex's 5.77% fall. The stock had also underperformed the market in the past one quarter, declining 10.23% as compared to the Sensex's 0.92% rise.

The company has equity capital of Rs 30.69 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Kalpataru Power Transmission (KPTL) have risen 3.34% in two trading sessions from a recent low of Rs 65.80 on 26 June 2013, after the company during trading hours on Thursday, 27 June 2013, said it has secured new orders aggregating worth Rs 1130 crore. The stock had risen 1.97% to settle at Rs 67.10 on Thursday, 27 June 2013.

KPTL secured an order worth over Rs 500 crore for two projects in Zambia. Another order worth around Rs 330 crore was secured from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL). A transmission line order worth over Rs 300 crore was secured from Madhya Pradesh Transmission Co.

KPTL said it has signed transmission agreement with Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MPPTCL) to develop a transmission line BOOT project. The project scope involves designing, financing, construction, commissioning, operate and maintenance of 240 kilometers (KM) of 400 Kv Satpura-Ashta transmission line for the period of 25 years with an extension of 10 years on annuity basis.

KPTL's net profit fell 14.3% to Rs 48.63 crore on 4.6% decline in net sales to Rs 1011.61 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012.
