Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The August 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8594.60, premium of 19.30 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8575.30 in the cash market. The Nifty September 2016 futures traded at 8642.05, a premium of 66.75 points compared with the spot closing for the index.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 3.68 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 3.04 lakh crore registered yesterday, 9 August 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty fell 102.95 points or 1.19% to settle at 8,575.30, its lowest closing level since 4 August 2016.
Motherson Sumi Systems, Mahindra & Mahindra, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Aditya Birla Nuvo and State Bank of India were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Motherson Sumi Systems August 2016 futures traded at 328.70, at a discount compared with spot closing of 331. Mahindra & Mahindra August 2016 futures traded at 1447, near spot closing of 1446.70. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone August 2016 futures traded at 259, at a premium compared with spot closing of 257.60.
Aditya Birla Nuvo August 2016 futures traded at 1514, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1510.05. State Bank of India August 2016 futures traded at 231.95, at a premium compared with spot closing of 231.25.
The August 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 August 2016. The September 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 September 2016.
