Nifty April 2013 futures fall below 5500

Nifty April 2013 futures were at 5495.85, near spot closing of 5495.10. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 159052.93 crore from Rs 77173.15 crore on Monday, 8 April 2013.

State Bank of India (SBI) April 2013 futures were at 1986.60, at a premium over spot closing of 1981.

ICICI Bank April 2013 futures were at 987.90, at a premium over spot closing of 984.90.

Infosys April 2013 futures were at 2781, at a premium over spot closing of 2770.

In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty lost 47.85 points or 0.86% to settle at 5,495.10, its lowest closing level since 13 September 2012.

The April 2013 derivatives contracts expire on 25 April 2013.
