Nifty April 2014 futures were at 6655.90, at a premium of 72.40 points over spot closing of 6583.50. Nifty March 2014 futures were at 6597.95, at a premium of 14.45 points over spot closing. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment stood at Rs 206459.04 crore.

United Spirits March 2014 futures were at 2610, at a premium over spot closing of 2598.10.

Axis Bank March 2014 futures were at 1402, at a discount compared to spot closing of 1409.30.

State Bank of India March 2014 futures were at 1734.65, at a premium over spot closing of 1728.

In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty surged 88.60 points or 1.36% to settle at 6,583.50, a record closing high.

The April 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 24 April 2014. The near-month March 2014 derivatives contracts expire on Thursday, 27 March 2014.
