Turnover rises
The July 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,610, a small discount of 5.80 points compared with Nifty's closing of 8,615.80 in the cash market. The Nifty August 2016 futures traded at 8,654.40, a decent premium of 38.60 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 6.86 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 4.55 lakh crore registered on Tuesday, 26 July 2016.
In the cash market, the Nifty rose 25.15 points or 0.29% to settle at 8,615.80, its highest closing level since 25 July 2016.
Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, JSW Steel, and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Yes Bank July 2016 futures traded at 1,202.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,201.80. HDFC Bank July 2016 futures traded at 1,236, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,234.40. Dr Reddy's Laboratories July 2016 futures traded at 2,973, at a premium compared with spot closing of 2,964.
JSW Steel July 2016 futures traded at 1,736, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1,730. ICICI Bank July 2016 futures traded at 269.95, at a discount compared with spot closing of 270.55.
The July 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire tomorrow, 28 July 2016. The August 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 August 2016.
