Nifty February 2016 futures trade at premium to spot price

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment increased

The February 2016 futures on the 50-unit Nifty 50 index traded at 7462.30, a premium of 6.75 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7455.55 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures and options (F&O) segment increased to Rs 2.40 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 1.61 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty fell 100.40 points or 1.33% to settle at 7,455.55, its lowest closing level since 28 January 2016.

State Bank of India, Yes Bank, Aurobindo Pharma, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank were listed among top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. State Bank of India February 2016 futures traded at 169.10, at a premium compared with spot closing of 168.90. Yes Bank February 2016 futures traded at 764.40, at a premium compared with spot closing of 762.30. Aurobindo Pharma February 2016 futures traded at 770, at a premium compared with spot closing of 765.40.

ICICI Bank February 2016 futures traded at 211, at a premium compared with spot closing of 210.50. Axis Bank February 2016 futures traded at 393, at a premium compared with spot closing of 391.10.

The February 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 25 February 2016.
