Turnover rises
Nifty January 2014 futures were at 6272.20, at a premium of 10.55 points over spot closing of 6261.65. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 148659.47 crore from Rs 113237.34 crore on Thursday, 16 January 2014.
HDFC Bank January 2014 futures were at 671.55, at a discount compared to spot closing of 672.15.
TCS January 2014 futures were at 2224, at a premium over spot closing of 2219.85.
Infosys January 2014 futures were at 3740, at a discount compared to spot closing of 3741.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty lost 57.25 points or 0.91% to settle at 6,261.65, its lowest closing level since 14 January 2014.
The January 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 30 January 2014.
