Turnover surges
Nifty September 2013 futures were at 5293.10, at a premium of 8.10 points over spot closing of 5285. Nifty August 2013 futures were at 5273.15, at a discount of 11.85 points compared to spot closing. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment jumped to Rs 361777.18 crore from Rs 293345.97 crore on Tuesday, 27 August 2013.
Axis Bank August 2013 futures were at 835.90, at a premium over spot closing of 831.
State Bank of India August 2013 futures were at 1493.15, at a premium over spot closing of 1490.20.
ICICI Bank August 2013 futures were at 797.95, near spot closing of 797.15.
In the spot market, the CNX Nifty lost 2.45 points or 0.05% to settle at 5,285, its lowest closing level since 6 September 2012.
The near-month August 2013 derivatives contracts expire tomorrow, 29 August 2013.
