Reliance Power announces commercial operations begins at 5th 600 MW unit of Sasan UMPP

Total generation capacity crosses 5,000 MW

Reliance Power announced that commercial operation has commenced at the fifth 660MW unit of the 3,960 MW (6X660 MW) Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant (UMPP) (thus making 3,300 MW capacity operational at the project), being developed by Sasan Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.

With this, Reliance Power's generating capacity crosses 5,000 MW. While the implementation of the sixth unit is on track for achieving capacity of nearly 6,000 MW in 2014.
