Four stocks that entered NSE's futures & options segment from today, 1 January 2016, edged higher at 10:40 IST on BSE.
Jet Airways (India) (up 4.92%), Container Corporation of India (up 4.19%), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.25%) and Godrej Consumer Products (up 1%), edged higher.
The S&P BSE Sensex was down 29.98 points, or 0.11% at 26,087.56.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced after trading hours on Wednesday, 30 December 2015, that it will introduce Jet Airways India, Godrej Consumer Products, Container Corporation of India and Torrent Pharmaceuticals in the future and option (F&O) segment from 1 January 2016.
Typically, stocks that enter the F&O segment gain ground due to absence of circuit filters and increase in institutional participation due to improved liquidity.
