Sun TV in spotlight after twin bulk deals

A bulk deal of 3 lakh shares was executed on the Sun TV Network counter at Rs 395 per share at 09:49 IST on the BSE today, 22 April 2013. Another bulk deal of 4.5 lakh shares was struck on the scrip at Rs 395 per share at 09:49 IST on the BSE. The bulk deals constituted 0.2% of equity share capital of the company.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 87.01 points, or 0.46%, to 19,103.47

On BSE, 8.63 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 1.55 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 410 and a low of Rs 388.70 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 493.90 on 4 February 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 176.75 on 27 July 2012.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 18 April 2013, falling 10.5% compared with the Sensex's 1.43% fall. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 6.68% as against Sensex's 5.10% fall.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 197.04 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.

Sun TV Network's net profit rose 13.1% to Rs 189.88 crore on 10.7% increase in total income to Rs 496.41 crore in Q3 December 2012 over Q3 December 2011.

Sun TV Network offers satellite television channels across four languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam. It also airs FM radio stations across India.
