Torrent Pharma to acquire Unichem's branded business in India and Nepal

For Rs 3600 crore

Torrent Pharmaceutical has entered into definitive binding agreement with Unichem Laboratories to acquire its branded formulations business of India and Nepal as going concern on slump sale basis for a consideration of Rs 3600 crore, pursuant to approval of board of directors of the Company on 03 November 2017.

This will be Torrent's fifth acquisition in India after acquiring the selected brands of Elder and Novartis, as well as manufacturing plants from ZygPharma and Goldchem Industries in the last four years.
