Volumes jump at GTL Infrastructure counter

GTL Infrastructure clocked volume of 4.19 crore shares by 13:08 IST on BSE, a 26.31-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 15.94 lakh shares. The stock was locked at 5% lower circuit at Rs 3.88, which is a record low for the counter.

La Opala RG notched up volume of 1.93 lakh shares, a 25.66-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock jumped 14.45% to Rs 269.25. The stock hit a record high of Rs 273.75 in the intraday trade today, 20 December 2012.

Kajaria Ceramics saw volume of 2.46 lakh shares, a 24.72-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock lost 3.59% to Rs 228.20 after a block deal of 2.22 lakh shares was executed on BSE at Rs 230.75 per share at 11:00 IST. The bulk deal constitutes 0.3% of Kajaria Ceramics' equity.

Ganesh Housing Corporation clocked volume of 6.77 lakh shares, a 14.09-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 48,000 shares. The stock jumped 11.7% to Rs 125.50.

BGR Energy Systems saw volume of 1.97 lakh shares, a 4.39-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 45,000 shares. The stock surged 4.87% to Rs 275.90 after the company said it has won a Rs 1548 crore contract for supplying steam turbine and generators for NTPC's power project in Chhattisgarh. The announcement was made after market hours on Wednesday, 19 December 2012.

BGR Energy Systems said it received the notification of award (NoA) for steam turbine and generators for NTPC's Lara 2x800 megawatts (MW) super thermal power project (STPP) in Chhattisgarh. The order is valued at Rs 1548 crore. The contract provides for price variation and foreign exchange variation risk protection.
