Volumes jump at M&M counter

Hathway Cable & Datacom, CMC, Repco Home Finance, and KSK Energy Ventures are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 17 July 2014.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) clocked volume of 1.31 crore shares by 13:44 IST on BSE, a 310.3-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 42,000 shares. The stock lost 2.96% at Rs 1,184.

M&M turned ex-dividend today, 17 July 2014, for total dividend of Rs 14 per share for the year ended 31 March 2014.

Hathway Cable & Datacom notched up volume of 5 lakh shares, a 83.49-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 6,000 shares. The stock rose 0.55% at Rs 320.70.

CMC saw volume of 51,000 shares, a 12.79-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock tumbled 5% at Rs 1,880.

CMC lost 5% after consolidated net profit fell 34.68% to Rs 58.42 crore on 4.91% decline in income from operations to Rs 592.63 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q4 March 2014. The result was announced after trading hours on Wednesday, 16 July 2014.

Repco Home Finance clocked volume of 1.05 lakh shares, a 12.3-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 9,000 shares. The stock lost 0.07% at Rs 477.

KSK Energy Ventures saw volume of 5.29 lakh shares, a 11.57-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 46,000 shares. The stock rose 1.29% at Rs 102.
