Volumes jump at Tata Coffee counter

Lincoln Pharmaceuticals, JSW Energy, KPIT Technologies and Phillips Carbon Black are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 17 November 2014.

Tata Coffee clocked volume of 1.55 lakh shares by 14:07 IST on BSE, a 10.45-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 0.15 lakh shares. The stock rose 4.99% to Rs 970.10.

Lincoln Pharmaceuticals notched up volume of 13.45 lakh shares, a 8.64-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.56 lakh shares. The stock jumped 16.06% to Rs 75.50.

JSW Energy saw volume of 18.40 lakh shares, a 7.35-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.5 lakh shares. The stock spurted 12.72% to Rs 85.50. JSW Energy said before market hours that the company has agreed to acquire from Jaiprakash Power Ventures and other shareholders, 100% stake in Himachal Baspa Power Company for a base enterprise value of approximately Rs 9700 crore, subject to mutually agreed adjustments.

KPIT Technologies clocked volume of 6.68 lakh shares, a 6.18-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.08 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.74% to Rs 163.75.

Phillips Carbon Black saw volume of 6.52 lakh shares, a 5.18-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.26 lakh shares. The stock galloped 20% to Rs 139.30.
