VST Tillers Tractors gains nearly 5% in two sessions

VST Tillers Tractors rose 1.99% to Rs 944 at 15:05 IST on BSE, extending Thursday's 2.86% rise triggered by the company's tractor plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu commencing commercial production and sales from Thursday, 27 March 2014.

The company made the announcement during trading hours Thursday, 27 March 2014. Shares of VST Tillers Tractors rose 2.86% to Rs 925.60 on the day. The stock has risen 4.91% in two trading sessions from Rs 899.85 on Wednesday, 26 March 2014.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 85.10 points, or 0.38%, to 22,299.47.

On BSE, so far 2,283 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 6,100 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 945 so far during the day, which is also a record high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 906.15 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 332.25 on 2 May 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 27 March 2014, rising 16.71% compared with the Sensex's 5.85% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 42.44% as against Sensex's 4.82% rise.

The small-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 8.64 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Net profit of VST Tillers Tractors rose 67.03% to Rs 21.58 crore on 30.60% rise in net sales to Rs 159.95 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012.

VST Tillers Tractors manufactures power tillers, tractors, paddy transplanters and diesel engines.
