At least 11 Taliban insurgents were killed in two air strikes in Afghanistan, sources said on Sunday.
"On Saturday, Afghan army and air force conducted an air strike against the militant's position in Pasaband district in Ghor province, killing five insurgents and destroying five motorcycles along with several rounds of weapons," Xinhua news agency quoted the Defence Ministry as saying in a statement.
In a similar operation, six Taliban fighters were killed in Alingar district of Laghman province, the ministry said.
The Afghan forces have beefed up security operations against the group since April following its annual spring offensive across the country.
