With at least 12 more swine flu cases reported in the last seven days in Rajasthan, the total number of people found H1N1 virus positive in the state since January has crossed the 6,800 mark, an official said on Tuesday.
"Swine flu positive cases total up to 6,803 from January 1 till October 26," a health department official told IANS.
The official said the death toll due to the highly contagious H1N1 virus from January to October 26 was 460. A maximum of 91 deaths were reported from Jaipur.
The maximum number of 2,471 positive cases was recorded in Jaipur, followed by 370 in Jodhpur, 325 in Ajmer and the remaining in other cities and towns of the state.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan government has launched an awareness campaign on swine flu in a big way.
It has also decided to begin screening of patients showing symptoms similar to that of swine flu.
