At least 13 persons were killed after a ferry capsized in Sondha river in Bangladesh's Barisal district on Wednesday, media reported.
The launch 'ML Oishee' capsized while passengers were boarding it around noon at Banariparha Upazila's Dasherhaat point terminal, bdnews quoted a district police official as saying.
"At least 18 persons are missing as the ferry sank amid violent winds and huge waves," the official told Xinhua news agency.
He said rescue efforts and search for the missing are under way by the fire service and civil defence authorities.
The victims are yet to be identified.
