Irani intelligence forces arrested over 130 members of Sunni Takfiri groups across the country, who intended to pose security threats against the country, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said Tuesday.
Ten operations by the Iranian intelligence forces led to the identification and arrest of the people linked to Takfiri militants, Xinhua quoted Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi as saying.
The intelligence forces also foiled two bomb plots in two provincial centres on anti-Israel rallies July 25, said Alavi.
The explosives were seized from the militants, the minister said.
The minister, however, refused to divulge details about from where they were arrested.
Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan as well as the western Kurdistan provinces are populated by Sunni Muslims.
