At least 16 persons were killed and over 10 injured when a booby trapped motorcycle exploded near a bakery store in Al-Hasakah province of Syria, an official said.
The blast occurred on Tuesday in the Salhiyeh neighbourhood. Many of the injured were in critical condition, Xinhua news agency reported.
Al-Hasakah has witnessed several deadly bombings throughout the country's conflict with the Islamic State terrorist group.
Much of the province is under the control of the Kurdish People Protection Units (YPG), which battles the IS on several fronts in Syria.
