Two members of a gang of auto thieves have been arrested and 19 stolen two-wheelers recovered from them, police said on Thursday.
Danish, 24, and Sanjay, 19, were arrested on June 28 after failing to produce documents regarding their motorcycle. While Danish is from Delhi, Sanjay belonged to Uttar Pradesh.
"They used to sell these stolen vehicles in Meerut and Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh. They spent the money on their girlfriends and luxury items," Assistant Commissioner of Police R.C. Sharma said.
On June 29, both men were remanded to four days police custody.
They confessed to their involvement in nearly 100 cases of vehicle thefts in and around Delhi. Nine scooties and 10 motorcycles were recovered from different places, police said.
