2 gold sumgglers held in Imphal

Sleuths of Customs Division on Saturday nabbed two international gold smugglers from a parking lot in Imphal.

Preliminary investigation showed they had smuggled gold from Myanmar. The value of the confiscated gold is over Rs 39 lakh in the international market, customs sources said.

Assistant commissioner of Customs Division R.K. Dorendrajit said the arrested persons are identified as Amit Kumar Verma of Bhagalpur and Razak Soni of West Bengal.
