Twenty kg of gold worth Rs.5.5 crore was seized at the Dabolim Airport by Customs officials, an official spokesperson said Monday.
Three cargo loaders of national carrier Air India were Monday arrested in connection with the seizure, the official said. The names of those arrested have not been released yet.
The Air India flight had just flown in from the Gulf region when the Customs officials raided it following a tip-off Monday morning.
Officials also claim that they are on the lookout for one more person, reportedly a ground handler working for a renowned charter flight company, who was coordinating the smuggling operation.
