The blast took place in the Darul Aman (Dar-ul-Aman) area of the city.
The suicide bomber reportedly detonated his explosive vest after entering the Baqer-ul-Oloom mosque.
1TV channel reported that the blast took place during a Shiite ceremony at the mosque, west of Kabul.
