The 22nd edition of the Delhi Book Fair opened in the capital on Saturday with the participation of over 250 leading companies from India and overseas.
Organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), the fair is on at Hall 8 to 12A of the Pragati Maidan, till September 4.
It covers a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, academic books; besides, children's literature, classics and other categories of publications including digital innovations.
Aiming to make such fairs more convenient for the visitors, mobile applications have been introduced through which visitors can access details of exhibitors, products on display, location details and concurrent ancillary activities.
One pavilion comprises 'Selfie Stations' which focuses on the national campaigns that include Make in India, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India, Skill India and Startup India, among others.
To make the fair more interactive with the visitors, book reading sessions, band performances, on-the-spot competitions, film screenings, quizes, street plays and storytelling sessions are being organised. A number of related conferences and seminars, book discussions and meet-the-author sessions will also be organised.
Visitors' entry will be from Gate numbers 1, 7 and 10. The fair will remain open from 10 am to 8 pm.
