Atleast 30 Taliban militants were killed in an air raid in Afghanistan's Baghlan province on Sunday, an army spokesman said.
"Acting upon intelligence report, the fighting aircraft conducted a series of sorties against a gathering of Taliban rebels in Baghlan-e-Markazi district at around noon, killing 30 rebels on the spot," Xinhua news agency quoted Mohammad Hanif Rezai as saying.
Taliban militants launched a series of attacks throughout Afghanistan to disrupt the voting process of the country's parliamentary elections, which began on Saturday. The attacks have claimed 78 lives and injured more than 100 others.
