A total of 36 prisoners died in Tihar jail here in 2013, an official said Thursday.
"The Tihar jail has reported 36 cases of prisoners' death," Director General of Prison Vimlaa Mehra said.
Afzal Guru's execution in Feb 2013 was among the 36 deaths, the prison official said.
Afzal Guru, who was convicted of plotting the 2002 attack on the parliament, was sentenced to death.
Among the total deaths, two were suicides, including one of Ram Singh, the key accused of the Dec 16, 2012 Delhi gang rape case. The other suicide was committed by a woman.
