Around 50 civilians were injured in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Sunday as they clashed with security forces following the killing of 10 militants in the district, police said.
Police said the protesters in Dragad, Kachdoora and Sugan villages resorted to heavy stone pelting at security forces who used tear smoke shells and fired pellets.
Doctors at the Shopian district hospital said they referred 20 patients to Srinagar hospitals as they were unable to cope with the rush.
Tension gripped the districts of Shopian, Anantnag, Kulgam and Pulwama as news of the death of 11 militants spread. While 10 were killed in two gunfights in Shopian, one militant died in Anantnag.
Internet as well as rail services have been suspended in south Kashmir.
