Swine flu cases continue to be reported in Telangana with 56 more people testing positive, officials said Monday.

As many as 181 samples were screened for H1N1 virus Sunday and out of them, 56 were found positive - the highest number of positive cases during last six days.

Officials said no death due to swine flu was reported during last two days but some reports said a 26-year-old woman succumbed at Gandhi Hospital here Sunday.

According to the health department, the toll remains at 51.

According to a bulletin by the health department, 4,040 samples were tested since Jan 1 and out of them 1,316 were found positive.

The health authorities had earlier attributed large number of swine flu cases to cold wave conditions. The number was expected to come down with the rise in day temperature. However, they are surprised over the continued high number of cases being reported every day despite increase in the temperature.
