70 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

At least 70 Taliban militants were killed and 40 injured as militants attacked Afghanistan's Ghazni city on Tuesday, local officials said.

"Clashes between security forces and Taliban in Noghi, Qarabaaghi and Spandi areas have left 70 rebels dead and 40 others injured on Tuesday," Xinhua quoted Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, deputy to the provincial government, as saying.

The clashes are still continuing in the province, the official added.
