Organisers of the 18th Asian Games have decided to make a change of nine events for the biggest regional sports gala next year, a top Indonesian sports official said on Tuesday.
Three in boxing, two in BMX, one in jujitsu, one in karate, one in kurash (Turkish wrestling) and one in sambo, will be replaced by five in archery and four in wall climbing, said Asian Games Organising Committee chairman Eric Tohir.
"There are changes in the number of sport events," Tohir said, reports Xinhua news agency.
Being the host, Indonesia has the right to name a total of 40 events for the Asian Games slated for August 18 to September 2 next year in the capital of Jakarta and Palembang city of South Sumatra province.
