A.K. Mittal gets two year extension as Railway Board chairman

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Friday approved the re-appointment of A.K. Mittal as the Chairman of the Railway Board for a period of two years, till he attains the age of 62 years.
This is for the first time that the highest official of the railways got a two-year extension.
He was due to retire on Sunday, July 31.
Mittal is a 1976 batch officer of the Indian Railway Stores Service and has worked as a Member Staff of the Railway Board. He also served as the General Manager of South Western Railway in Hubli.
