As many as 14 AAP-supported candidates registered victories in the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) elections for 17 posts, a party statement said on Tuesday.
"For the first time, the Aam Admi Party-supported candidates contested the APMC elections for 17 seats held on Monday and won 14 seats," the AAP said in a statement.
AAP-supported Meetha Ram won from Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board while Bhajan Singh and Ameet Gupta registered victories from APMC Azadpur.
The party-supported winners on Tuesday met Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai and AAP Delhi Convener Dilip Pandey.
Pandey termed the candidates' victory in the APMC elections as a "semi-final" of the municipal elections in the city.
"The way our trader brothers won the APMC elections, the Delhi people will help us sweep the MCD elections," Pandey said in his statement.
