The AAP on Wednesday welcomed the Delhi High Court's decision to quash Lt. Governor Anil Baijal's order cancelling the allotment of a bungalow at Rouse Avenue as the party's headquarter, saying the move was a joint conspiracy hatched by the BJP and the Congress to disrupt the party's functioning.
"The cancellation of the party office allotment by the LG was part of a joint conspiracy hatched by the BJP and the Congress in collusion with some retired bureaucrats, whose common sinister goal is to disrupt the AAP functioning," said a statement issued by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The AAP also questioned how the allotment of an office to a party which won 95 per cent seats in the last Delhi Assembly elections could have been cancelled without giving any reason.
"The allotment of party office to AAP by the Delhi government was not an act of charity, but fulfilment of a rightful claim of a state recognised party, which should have been allotted an office as per rules after 2013 Delhi Assembly elections," said the statement.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday quashed the order by Lt Governor Anil Baijal cancelling the allotment of a bungalow at 206 Rouse Avenue that houses the AAP headquarters.
Noting that the Lt. Governor did not give any reason for the cancellation of the allotment and his April 12 order did not state which law/rule was violated, Justice Vibhu Bakhru sent the matter back to Baijal to pass a reasoned order within eight weeks of hearing the AAP.
According to AAP, High Court order has also exposed both the BJP and the Congress, which have been occupying several premises across Delhi, and many of these illegally, but tried to block the single office allotment for the AAP.
