A lawmaker of Delhi's ruling AAP on Thursday moved the court against Chief Secretary for allegedly making derogatory remarks about SC/STs at a meeting convened by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
In an affidavit submitted to the Tis Hazari courts, Prakash Jarwal, who represents Deoli constituency in south Delhi and himself belongs to Scheduled Caste community, gave a detailed account of how Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash used a derogatory term when asked about a solution to the ration distribution problem in Delhi.
"I stood up and humbly appealed to the Chief Secretary that the Deoli constituency is facing a severe problem of ration distribution and that the people are so poor, they depend on government for basic commodities," Jarwal said, adding that Anshu Prakash ignored his request and refused to reply.
Jarwal said that when he repeated his request, the Chief Secretary angrily got up and said "tum log chude-chamaar ho, tum chude-chamaaro ki rajniti karo, mujhe chude-chamaro ki rajniti nahi karni hai. Mai Lt. Governor ko jawaab de doonga."
When he asked the Chief Secretary to behave properly, Prakash told him to stay within his limit, saying "Jitni aukat hai utni he baat karo."
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA said that he filed a complaint against Anshu Prakash in the Sangam Vihar police station, with the SHO Civil Lines and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, but none of them took any action.
"The DCP and SHO of Civil lines police station have failed to exercise their duties by not filing FIR till date which makes them liable to be prosecuted under the SC/ST act," he said.
In the affidavit, he implored the court to direct the police to register an FIR against the accused and pass appropriate orders which "the court deems fit."
