Indian maestros like Abdul Hamid Khan, Amjad Ali Khan and world artistes like Zohar Izhak Fresco, Anne Hytta, and Mathias Boegner are all set to perform at the upcoming 92nd Tansen Samaroh music festival to be held here in the birthplace of the musical genius.

The five-day festival is scheduled from December 16 to 20. To celebrate the universal language of music, artists from Norway, Iraq, Israel, Belgium and Switzerland will also perform in different sessions.

This prestigious event of the Kala Parishad, Madhya Pradesh Culture Ministry will commence with Hari Katha by Dholibuba Maharaj and milad by Sharif Maulana sahib.

One of the oldest music festivals, Tansen Samaroh is organised every year at Tansen Tomb, here.

"It is perhaps the first and the only international music fest in India with participation of artists from five different nations along with India. These artists will perform in their respective genres and the festival won't be confined to Hindustani classical. This makes the festival international," Kala Parishad Assistant Director Rahul Rastogi told IANS.

"The complete set up is very different and gorgeous."

"Renowned musician Malini Awasthi will host a very nice preview of the festival on the 15th," Rastogi said.

Ustad Allaudin Khan Academy will hold a discussion on the second and third days of the festival. The discussion titled, "Vadi Samvadi" will cover various areas like sangeet puran, Tabla Palyers, khayaal Gayaki and the like.

There will also be a photography exhibit to celebrate the glory of Indian classical music.

The concluding event will be organised at legendary musician Tansen's birthplace, Behat village in Gwalior on the banks of the river Jhilmil.

Eminent artists like Venkatesh Kumar, Saswati Bagchi, Sharat Chandra Srivastava, Manjiri Alegaonkar, Madhup Mudgal, Basant Kabra, Margaret Hermant and Osama Abdulrasol are the names among other performers.
