Acrobatics, aerobics to be part of 2015 European Games

Two more gymnastic disciplines - acrobatics and aerobics - will become a part of the first European Games which will be held in Baku in 2015.

The decision was made jointly with the European Olympic Committee (EOC) and Baku European Games Organising Committee (BEGOC), the Azerbaijan's Gymnastics Federation said Saturday, Xinhua reports.

The gymnastics at European Games in Baku will be presented in six types: artistic gymnastics, men's and women's sports gymnastics, jumping on trampoline, acrobatics and aerobics.

The President of the European Union of Gymnastics Georges Guelzec expressed his desire to include the acrobatics and aerobics to the program of the Games during his recent visit to Baku.

Qualification for 2015 Games on aerobics will start very soon; the selection will be conducted in European Championship in November in France.

The competitions will be held from June 12 to June 28, 2015 in the National Gymnastics Arena.

According to him, these two types will give a special appeal to the tournaments on gymnastics and to the Games in general.
