Actor Christian Bale, 39, was bothered by the age difference between him and his "American Hustle" co-star Jennifer Lawrence, who is 23.
Bale has even said that he had initial apprehensions about how they will be paired on screen.
"I was really worried that she was going to be far too young for the character. I mean I'm almost old enough to be her Dad. I'm 40 and she's 22, I think, and I thought, 'What's that going to mean about Irv (his character) and everything," Bale said in a statement.
But the "Silver Linings Playbook" actress convinced Bale with her talent.
"She's got such talent. She came in and we discussed (our relationship) and she created this wonderful character that you absolutely buy," Bale added.
The crime-comedy-drama showcases the story of con man Irving Rosenfeld, played by Bale.
The film, releasing in India Jan 17, also features Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper.
