Artificial Intelligence research startup Staqu has entered into a partnership with Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi to enrich research in the field.
"It is an open and unconstrained partnership that aims to boost research in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning," Staqu Technologies Co-founder and CEO Atul Rai said.
"This partnership will be the first of its kind in India as we aim to develop cutting edge deep learning based algorithms to tackle problems currently plaguing consumers worldwide," he added.
Leading minds from both organisations will delve further into advancing the state of research in the country by creating innovative solutions in the domains of video and image understanding.
The principal investigator on this collaboration will be Chetan Arora of the CSE Department from IIIT Delhi. His primary field of research is advancements in computer vision and machine learning.
The partnership has takn a cue from Microsoft partnering with Cambridge to form Microsoft Research Lab.
"It has been Staqu's endeavor to revolutionize fashion e-commerce through Artificial Intelligence," Rai said.
"Since most of the data across the internet comprises of images and videos, Staqu aims to create solutions that enable companies across the world tap into this vast set of unstructured data and use it for improving their products, whilst creating new avenues for their users," he explained.
