The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here will procure machinery and equipment worth Rs.261.90 crore during the current financial year to enhance patient care, a top hospital official said on Friday.
"Efforts are being made to ensure timely completion of the procurement processes. Major equipment will be procured in 2015-16 fiscal, including Small Incision Lenticule Extactionfor Lasik Surgery by the R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences; and Radiology Information System to store, manipulate and distribute patient radiological data and imagery by the radiology department," AIIMS Deputy Director V. Srinivas said in a statement.
A high-end CT scanner capable of advanced cardiovascular applications would also be purchased by the cardio-radiology department.
