National passenger carrier Air India on Friday extended the waiver period for penalties on cancellation for flights operating to and from Port Blair.
The development comes two days after the flag carrier had waived such penalties on flights to and from Port Blair till December 9.
In the light of extreme weather situation in the area, other domestic airlines have also waived such penalties on flights to and from Port Blair.
"Waiver on applicable penalties of re-issuance, date change, no-show, cancellation and refund charges has been extended for travel from/to Port Blair for both domestic & international flights, on all Air india tickets issued on/before 9th Dec, during 6th to 12th Dec," the airline said in a statement.
